Gold-Filled or Plated?

Gold-plated is like a summer fling. It is fun, but it doesn't alwasy last. Gold-filled is the forever love. We have room in our hearts for both, but prefer to use stay with our long-time love when we can. (You can always pick up a fun, low cost flash sale that will be gold-plated though) Gold-plated is an affordable option that may or may not tarnish depending on the quality and how you take care of it. It has a very think layer of gold (usually less than O.O5%) bonded to a base metal like brass or copper. Gold-Plated tends to be more yellow in color, don't be fooled though "18k gold-filled is not genuine gold-filled"

I am not here to judge, just to tell you the difference. But we love the durable, tarnish resistant, hypoallergenic and can last decades gold-filled. It is a more expensive option, but built to last if you take care of it. Our jewelry is precious and not indestructible, but we stand by our craftsmanship. Gold-filled is a thick layer of 14k gold (at least 5% of the total weight) mechanically bonded to a jeweler's brass core.
